The WH Ming Hotel’s design and decor has a sophisticated cool elegance, with a fusion of Art Deco and modern Chinese minimalism. Complimenting the interior is the lighting design by one of the worlds leading lighting designers, the incomparable Tino Kwan.
As Shanghai’s latest 5 star hotel it features 188 guest rooms, a 90 guest wedding chapel and more than 3000 sqm of function spaces.
Center stage is the Diamond Grand Ballroom (1,200 sqm) which features a 7.4m high ceiling with stunning crystal chandeliers, and a 900 sqm pre-function area with 2 VIP rooms. The ballroom can be divisible into 3 independent rooms with each area controlled separately.
To compliment the décor Tino Kwan makes extensive use of tungsten halogen, cleverly blending its classic warmth with the crispness of modern LED’s. Futronix PFX-820 (20A) lighting controllers are used for the higher loads like chandeliers and coffers, while the PFX1610 (10A) dimmers are used for the downlights and wall washers, while PFS-1210 are used to control the LED lights throughout.
